Frank Felix Reid was born in Wellington, New Zealand on 4 November 1892. He died on 29 September 1966 at St. George’s Hospital, Christchurch at the age of 73.
He was married on 5 February 1924 at the age of 31 to Pearl Constantia Vavasour at the Vavasour family home in Ugbrooke, Marlborough, New Zealand.

He was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List of June 1961 (CBE Announcement June 1961)
